Requirements
  • Successfully complete assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, learning management system content, and classroom-led instruction.
  • Have strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be a self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes.
  • Be able to take direction and learn from feedback.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with a supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Have at least three years of driving experience and a valid driver's license.
  • Have an associate degree from a college or technical school, or four or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have experience working within ISO 17025 and be able to create, edit, and maintain uncertainty budgets with an extensive understanding of statistics.
Responsibilities
  • Perform calibration work with little to no supervision.
  • Conduct independent research when necessary.
  • Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from a manager.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques.
  • Maintain calibration standards.
  • Understand and apply uncertainties to measurements made.
  • Read and interpret laboratory scopes of accreditation.
  • Work effectively with laboratory support staff.
  • Perform calibrations within a laboratory or at a customer onsite setting.
  • Work at customer onsite locations with little to no direction.
  • Fulfill duties safely under working conditions in keeping with company requirements and standards.
  • Learn and develop fundamental calibration skills and techniques, including high-level production with few errors.
  • Develop team-lead skills and responsibilities.
  • Develop skills necessary to train and advise lower-level technicians.
  • Develop skills necessary to advance to Senior Calibration Technician, including working knowledge and competency in at least eight disciplines and expert competency in three disciplines.
  • Deliver on the company's Quality Policy (QAC-F01-001).
  • Travel for up to 25% of the work schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of a professional CCT or CMT certification is desired.
  • Four or more years of commercial calibration experience.
  • CCT or CMT certification.
  • Previous experience or training in electronics or machining.
  • An extensive statistical background.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics.
