About the team and role:
Dave is looking for a Sr. Compensation Manager who in partnership with key stakeholders, will be the primary individual responsible for developing, implementing and administering the company’s compensation programs and ensuring adherence to Dave’s compensation philosophy. This person will have ownership over Dave’s compensation program during an exciting time of the company’s growth, and adapting existing or recommending new solutions to meet those respective talent needs.
What you’ll do:
Leads successful ideation and implementation of two semi-annual compensation reviews, serving as the subject matter expert and program manager for base salary, bonus and stock compensation programs
Acts as a steward of the company’s compensation philosophy by influencing key stakeholders with compensation decisions upon hire and employee movement. Makes recommendations to iterate or enhance our existing compensation philosophy as required
Translates complex talent, business and compliance needs into compensation project plans and deliverables.
Partners with third party compensation consultants, People and Finance team leadership to periodically assess our equity program strategy’s cost (dilution) and effectiveness and leads efforts to implement necessary changes
Performs routine market research to keep salary structures and ranges up to date and aligned to Dave’s virtual-first model
Performs regular compensation analysis to ensure alignment to our stated compensation philosophy, including pay equity objectives.
Serves as single point of contact for routine new hire offer approvals with Talent Acquisition team including conducting one-off compensation analyses, proactively and reactively as needed by People Partner and Talent Acquisition teams
Responsible for compiling routine data and materials for quarterly Compensation Committee and Board of Directors meeting, including available shares analysis and incentive plan pacing and cost projections
Partners with People Operations and People Partner teams to maintain company job architecture in Workday HRIS, including approving and benchmarking new job families, levels, titling conventions, FLSA status and relevant salary structure.
Adheres to compensation-related SOX controls and performs routine audit and testing requirements
Submits annual benchmarking and other relevant compensation survey participation
What you’ll need:
6+ years of relevant experience including experience with both cash and stock compensation
Public company experience strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field preferred (e.g. Business, Mathematics, etc).
Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills
Ability to translate compensation data into digestible insights for an executive audience
Program management experience needed including managing timelines, multiple stakeholders, conducting retrospectives, and developing communications plans
Some experience designing and facilitating compensation training materials
Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a commitment to accuracy
Comfortable working with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
Experience with Workday, ChartHop and/or compensation planning systems preferred
Nice-to-have:
Previous experience in compensation consulting or human capital management environment
Advanced Microsoft Excel experience including developing models
