"A project team that includes general contractor Wainschaf Associates of Rensselaer has been selected to reconfigure the former McDonald's restaurant in downtown Albany as an intercity bus terminal. The board of Advance Albany County Alliance, the county-backed authority that owns the 3,200-square-foot building at 106 South Pearl St., voted Tuesday morning to select a proposal from Wainschaf, engineering firm LaBella Associates and New Jersey-based design firm Sowinski Sullivan, which specializes in mass transportation projects." "Construction on a new Coca-Cola repackaging and distribution facility is underway in Halfmoon. The nearly 130,000-square-foot facility is being developed on a 16-acre site at 15 Liebich Lane in Halfmoon and will replace an existing distribution facility in Colonie at 38 Warehouse Row." "Passenger railroad Amtrak says "significant progress" has been made in its $12.5 million rehabilitation of the Saratoga Springs station. The station, located west of downtown near the high school, is owned by the Capital District Transportation Authority and was last remodeled in 2004 in a $5.9 million project. LaBella Associates has acquired Prestige Environmental Inc., a Somerset, New Jersey-based environmental consulting firm, expanding its presence in the tri-state region. The acquisition adds municipal relationships and environmental expertise to the Rochester-based multidisciplinary firm's capabilities. Prestige Environmental, founded in 1993, specialises in environmental due diligence, waste management and remediation for public-sector projects. The firm employs engineers, geologists and environmental professionals experienced in regulatory compliance. LaBella, which operates offices across 14 states with over 2,000 consultants, provides infrastructure, buildings, environmental and energy expertise throughout the eastern US, UK and Spain. This marks the company's eighth acquisition in 41 months across sectors including architecture, surveying and environmental services.
