Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in higher education, academic or career advising, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive and respectful working relationships with students, alumni, staff, faculty, and colleagues outside the university.
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret data to inform decisions aligning advising and administrative services with student, alumni, and faculty needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and respectful listening skills.
  • Professional judgment in navigating challenges and prioritizing work tasks within HPAC priorities.
  • Experience utilizing and applying technology to enhance the student services experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate strategically across the HPAC team.
  • Organizational ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects and submit high-quality deliverables on time.
  • Ability to manage significant sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.
  • Ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an accessible first point of contact for undergraduate students, prospective pre-health students, and alumni seeking information about health professions pathways.
  • Provide foundational advising and educational support related to health professions exploration, prerequisite planning, application logistics, HPAC resources, and related student services.
  • Refer complex advising matters to professional advisors.
  • Coordinate student programs, workshops, and events.
  • Collaborate with college advising offices, health professions programs, alumni, and other university partners.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of HPAC, including managing the Bookings platform and overseeing the HPAC general email account.
  • Coordinate and assess the Cornell Letter Packet process.
  • Maintain the HPAC website.
  • Coordinate program and event logistics.
  • Develop and coordinate communications and outreach, including the weekly newsletter, event promotions, presentations, handouts, website content, and other student-facing materials.
