Requirements
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing, materials, processes, and technology.
  • Strong hands-on skills.
  • Strong professional communication skills for proposal and technical report writing, verbal presentations, and small-group consultation.
  • A preferred Bachelor of Science degree with 3–5 years of experience, or a Master of Science or Ph.D. in physical sciences or engineering.
  • Working knowledge of general chemistry.
  • Working knowledge of simple direct-current electronic circuits and test procedures; radio-frequency measurement techniques are preferred.
  • Working knowledge of a software language such as Python, C++, MATLAB, or LabVIEW is preferred.
  • The ability to lift 25 pounds and access components from the floor to a five-foot level.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to meet customer expectations within the required delivery timeframe.
Responsibilities
  • Work with customers to specify device performance requirements.
  • Work with commercial material suppliers to specify application material requirements.
  • Fabricate proof-of-concept devices with Aerosol Jet systems.
  • Lead hands-on demonstrations of the Aerosol Jet printing process, culminating in the fabrication of functional test parts for customers.
  • Support user education on the Aerosol Jet process, materials, and applications through journal and conference publications, training, technical notes, and online forums.
  • Collaborate with applications and new product development teams on research and development activities.
  • Participate in long-term research and development projects with product engineers and scientists.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Cognex machine vision software.
  • Experience with optical microscopy and profilometry.
  • Experience with computer-aided design and additive manufacturing, such as SOLIDWORKS, fused deposition modeling, or stereolithography.
  • Experience with simple machine shop procedures.
  • Experience with laser materials processing.
  • Radio-frequency measurement techniques.
