About the job
- At least 2 years of experience as a Shuttle Car Operator.
- Current Underground Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Experienced Miner Training.
- Ability to follow company policies and state and federal laws.
- Control conveyors running the length of shuttle cars to distribute loads as loading progresses.
- Maneuver shuttle cars into position for loading and unloading.
- Position material-handling equipment.
- Drive loaded shuttle cars to conveyors while maintaining awareness of other miners, mining equipment, power cables, and movement controls, and discharge loads onto conveyors.
- Observe hand signals, light signals, grade stakes, and other markings when operating machines.
- Signal others to coordinate vehicle movement.
- Clean, fuel, and service equipment, and repair or replace parts as necessary.
- Clean machinery and equipment.
- Monitor loading processes to ensure materials are loaded according to mining conditions.
