Requirements
  • High school graduation or a GED, which may be offset by experience.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to meet the company's Motor Vehicle Review requirements.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain the required state commercial applicator certification.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an agricultural commercial driver's license.
  • The ability to read, count, and write and to use technology to complete documentation accurately, including shipping and applicator orders, tickets, product labels, safety data sheets, warning signs, and emergency procedures.
  • Familiarity with crop chemicals, nutrients, farming practices, and crop characteristics.
  • The ability to use technology to accurately locate application sites and read field maps.
  • The ability to regularly lift more than 50 pounds, climb ladders, perform preventive maintenance, and complete other physical duties, including walking, standing, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, handling, feeling, and grasping.
  • The ability to work required overtime as seasonal demands require.
Responsibilities
  • Apply dry fertilizer products and lime safely and efficiently for customers.
  • Use information supplied and application-equipment technology to apply the right products at the right rates to the right fields and customers.
  • Assist with mixing, loading, unloading, and transporting crop protection and fertilizer products.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, safety rules, personal protective equipment requirements, and environmental, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current state commercial applicator certification.
  • Inspect equipment daily before field applications and after applications.
  • Maintain safety equipment in optimum condition in the applicator equipment and immediate work area.
  • Maintain applicator and equipment logs and keep them up to date.
  • Perform required equipment calibration and recommended preventive maintenance.
  • Rinse and wash down equipment in the field and at the location in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist team members with physical duties necessary to operate an agricultural location.
  • Assist with operational scouting, product transportation, and other customer services.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships through product application and provide customers and the location manager with feedback about field conditions observed during application.
  • Operate and maintain company equipment used for applications.
