Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including 1 year of demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Strong planning skills and a solid understanding of Patient and Family Centered Care are required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Graduation from an NLN-accredited school of nursing is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • A current New Jersey Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation, and evaluation of patient care services within the assigned unit under the direction of the Clinical Director and in the Clinical Director's absence.
  • Assign workload and assume responsibility for the operational functioning of the department.
  • Ensure delivery of patient care through coordination of customer services and leadership and management of the nursing unit.
  • Assist the Clinical Director in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care.
  • Assist the Clinical Manager in directing the preparation and maintenance of patients' clinical records, including nursing and medical treatments and related services provided by Registered Nurses.
  • Assist the Clinical Director in leading the patient care team to meet customer needs and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Assist the Clinical Director in ensuring staff participation in educational activities and the evaluation process to support personal growth and development.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing and medical staff, serve as a problem-solver and mediator for positive change, and develop and maintain effective intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced certification such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, or Pediatric Advanced Life Support may be required for certain specialties.
