Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent academic preparation from a regionally accredited college is required.
  • One to three years of relevant experience supporting desktop, software, and mobile computing systems is required.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in a professional work environment is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 11, Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Registry, and Windows File and Print Services is required.
  • Working experience with Windows server operating systems is required.
  • Proficiency in Google GSuite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and similar productivity tools is required.
  • Experience with application distribution and virtualization platforms such as AppsAnywhere or a similar management tool is required.
  • Hands-on experience configuring SCCM or a similar configuration management tool to build, deploy, and manage PC images is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Jamf or a similar configuration management tool to build, deploy, and manage MacOS images is required.
  • Experience supporting virtual desktop technologies is required.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or related service management practices, including incident, problem, configuration, and change management, is required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the lifecycle of personal and mobile computing devices, including acquisition, operating system image creation, baseline configuration deployment, maintenance, renewal, and disposal for Windows, Apple MacOS, Google Chromebook, and Apple iOS devices.
  • Ensure timely and consistent distribution of software updates and security patches according to departmental standards.
  • Identify, use, and maintain methods and technologies for efficient device and software configuration management.
  • Integrate third-party hardware such as printers, scanners, and copiers into the personal and mobile computing environment.
  • Establish and document best practices for technical support of computing and mobile devices.
  • Evaluate and recommend devices and software to meet specified requirements.
  • Consult on system installation, configuration, and maintenance questions.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of academic software, including evaluation, testing, virtualization, distribution, and support across Windows, Apple MacOS, Google Chromebook, and Apple iOS devices.
  • Use established tools to manage application virtualization and distribution.
  • Audit the application portfolio to identify underutilized software for removal and monitor applications for updates.
  • Document application management and related practices.
  • Hire, train, mentor, and supervise approximately 10 student staff.
  • Assist in developing a comprehensive training program for Systems and Network Services student staff.
  • Approve timesheets and absences for direct reports using established systems.
  • Schedule student staffing to support Systems and Network Services team needs.
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and technology services.
  • Support resolution of technology issues and respond to and resolve assigned incidents and requests according to established standards.
  • Collaborate on maintenance and renewal of systems and software configuration management tools.
  • Collaborate with IT staff and college community members on assigned projects.
  • Provide visual, oral, and written communication to key constituencies.
  • Participate in on-call and weekend support.
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge regarding industry best practices, operational requirements, and technology trends.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Engage in a planned professional development program.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
