About the job

Requirements
  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including deep experience designing and operating workflow, business process management, or orchestration systems such as Camunda, Flowable, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with business process management and mapping tools, workflow migration projects, and no-code or low-code process design.
  • Demonstrated architecture ownership of a production platform, including standards definition and design governance.
  • A strong backend engineering foundation in Java, Spring Boot, REST integration, and microservice patterns.
  • Experience providing technical leadership to distributed or vendor-staffed engineering teams.
  • Ability to make and defend technology decisions using cost-benefit analysis, total cost of ownership modeling, and proof-of-concept work.
  • Strong written communication skills, including architecture documentation and executive-level reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Own the architectural direction and roadmap for the workflow and business process management domain within the Opto WES platform, using business process management and mapping tools to model, document, and govern processes.
  • Define standards, reference patterns, and design guardrails for workflow modeling, deployment, and runtime behavior.

  • Review CapBPM designs and implementations for adherence to standards, quality, and platform alignment before merge and release.
  • Manage technical flow-down and intake for the CapBPM team, reducing go-to-person dependencies through documented patterns and clear ownership.
  • Track delivery health, including estimate accuracy, carry-over, completion, and defect spillover, and escalate risks to KPI leadership.
  • Partner with CapBPM on staffing mix, ramp, and capability gaps relative to roadmap demand.
  • Represent the workflow domain in Architecture Review Board sessions and platform roadmap planning.
  • Coordinate workflow dependencies with product, project delivery, and DevSecOps teams across active client implementations.
  • Provide executive-ready reporting on workflow direction, delivery status, and key decisions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in WES or WMS, warehouse automation, or industrial orchestration domains.
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant configuration strategies and platform consolidation initiatives.
  • Direct experience with CapBPM or comparable business process management and mapping tool providers, and business process management licensing negotiation.
  • Experience operating within an Agile or SAFe PI planning cadence.

NūMove Robotics & Vision partners with KPI Solutions to develop new robotic order picking system for beverage warehousing

NūMove Robotics & Vision partners with KPI Solutions to develop new robotic order picking system for beverage warehousing. Robotic systems manufacturer, NūMove Robotics & Vision, and supply chain services and automation integrator, KPI Solutions, have joined forces to create an innovative robotic concept that optimizes order preparation for fast-moving SKUs in the beer and beverage industry. Called "RAPTOR", this high-throughput, dual-robot system tackles the growing demand for efficiency and flexibility in modern warehouse operations while addressing the challenges of mixed palletizing. Requiring only approximately 2,500 square feet (230 square meters) of space, this vision-guided system simplifies order preparation by depalletizing products into SKU-specific buffer lanes and then repalletizing them into retail-ready mixed-SKU order pallets. RAPTOR handles multiple product types and formats, including closed cases, wrapped products in trays or with bottom pads, cartons in trays, and returnable shells. It also supports various donor and order pallet formats, making it a versatile solution for high-volume distribution environments. Robert Battaglia, director of sales and business development at NūMove, says: "By separating the depalletizing and palletizing functions and adding a temporary buffer, this solution provides a versatile and fully automated solution to prepare order pallets that will maximize the uptime, therefore the throughput." "We find that beverage distributors of all sizes can justify this automation. Companies recognize RAPTOR's ability to flex and scale, while increasing productivity and worker safety." - Roger Counihan, Chief Commercial Officer at KPI Solutions Several beverage wholesalers are currently installing RAPTOR systems in distribution centers across the United States, marking a significant step toward transforming order preparation workflows in the beverage industry.
