National Director of Credit and Collections
Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a National Director of Credit and Collections for our Finance team. This highly strategic position reports to the Vice President of Finance and will be based in our corporate office in Somerville, Massachusetts. The role requires close collaboration with key departments and direct access to leadership to ensure alignment with company-wide financial objectives and operational needs.
This highly motivated, data-driven individual will be responsible for overseeing the development, standardization, and management of the credit and collections process across multiple regions. They will work closely with sales and leadership teams to ensure the timely review of new customers, maintain clear communication, and lead the collections team in driving process improvements and resolving outstanding balance issues.
The successful candidate will also spearhead the development of management reporting, oversee the accurate application of payments, and ensure clean, precise financial records. Responsibilities:
- Develop, standardize, and maintain written policies and documentation related to the credit and customer setup process.
- Interface with the sales organization to communicate credit decisions and ensure timely reviews of new customers and opportunities.
- Create and implement communication plans with regional General Managers and Sales Team leadership to maintain clear, consistent communication.
- Make credit decisions within assigned authority.
- Lead and manage the collections team, ensuring the creation of clear, consistent processes across all regions.
- Initiate process improvements and quality reviews to simplify workflows and increase productivity.
- Resolve credit issues and outstanding balance collections with customers.
- Develop and maintain management reporting, delivering quarterly packages to stakeholders.
- Lead and train new and existing staff, fostering continuous development.
- Master Triumvirate’s credit and collections processes.
- Oversee payment applications and ensure ledgers are accurate and cleanly maintained.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills.
Requirements:
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with Oracle; Great Plains experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of Credit and Collections management experience.
- Significant experience working with national or international organizations.
- Prior experience with companies generating $500 million or more in revenue.
- Extensive knowledge of credit reporting agencies (e.g., D&B, Equifax).
- Experience with federal and state contracts and processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with managing client payment portals is a plus.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting financial statements for credit underwriting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to be clear and concise.
- Proven ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
