Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of five years of land surveying experience is required, along with an LSIT credential or qualification to take the LSIT examination.
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Carlson Civil Suites and IntelliCAD is preferred.
  • Knowledge of office management practices and procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of client communication and customer service through email, phone, or in-person interaction is required.
  • Knowledge of project and field-crew staff management and evaluation is required.
  • Knowledge of government, commercial, residential, and retail projects is required.
  • Knowledge of Sokkia, Trimble total stations, and data collectors is required.
  • Knowledge of mathematical calculations and measurement errors is required.
  • A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record is required.
  • LSIT certification is preferred.
  • Professionalism, punctuality, reliability, attention to detail, and analytical capability are required.
  • The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects is required.
  • The ability to read and interpret field notes, engineering plans, and construction documents is required.
  • The ability to perform deed and utility research and compile record information, including record maps, legal descriptions, utility information, and right-of-way data, is required.
  • The ability to perform calculations and prepare instructions for fieldwork and construction stakeout is required.
  • The ability to provide solutions to civil site design challenges is required.
  • The ability to safely drive a vehicle, work in inclement weather, lift or carry required weights, use personal protective gear, and perform the stated physical activities is required.
  • The ability to adhere to company policies and project safety plans is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the production department of surveyors and CAD technicians.
  • Schedule fieldwork, office work, and project deliverables.
  • Establish deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize project progress.
  • Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks, and ensure compliance with project scope and timely completion.
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and financial performance of assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Evaluate policies and procedures to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform survey calculations and analysis, final map checking, title-data review, record-drawing research, and client relations.
  • Collaborate with licensed surveyors, engineers, and technical and survey staff.
  • Review and process field-survey results, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features and structures.
  • Verify the accuracy of field-survey data, measurements, and calculations.
  • Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Maintain firm standards for preparing survey and mapping documents.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to survey staff regarding office and field conflicts.
  • Assist field crews with fieldwork as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Additional college coursework or an apprenticeship is highly desirable.
  • An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience with Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Experience with Carlson Civil Suites and IntelliCAD is preferred.
  • Drone experience is preferred.
