Responsibilities
Perform basic settlement and invoicing activities under supervision, including shadow settlements and validation of final settlements for standard independent system operator, hedge, and renewable energy certificate contracts.
Support communication with counterparties to facilitate alignment and escalate discrepancies as necessary.
Collaborate with Accounting on invoicing, payments, and revenue reconciliations for monthly reporting.
Support communications with asset management clients and offtakers and build an understanding of how market conditions and events influence project revenues.
Verify independent system operator bilateral trade scheduling and support execution of day-ahead and real-time scheduling.
Assist in drafting transaction confirmations for power swaps, renewable energy certificate sales, and similar transactions.
Analyze, reconcile, and support evaluation of confirmations for accuracy, ensuring proper amounts and commercial terms.
Collaborate with Asset Management and Accounting to deliver investor reporting, including budget-versus-actual variance explanations and related market analysis.
Maintain revenue models for internal and external stakeholder reporting and suggest efficiency improvements.
Develop an understanding of revenue calculation methodologies and support internal verification of financial impacts.
Analyze energy market data and trends to build knowledge of financial performance drivers for solar, wind, and other assets.
Read contracts to understand basic commercial obligations and record and communicate obligations to Management and Contract Administration.
Manage renewable energy certificate trading and tracking system activity, including PJM GATS, NCRETS, WREGIS, and Texas renewable energy certificates.
Desired Qualifications
Past experience working in the financial or energy industries is highly preferred.
Experience directly supporting back-office functions in wholesale or retail electricity is preferred.
Knowledge of independent system operator market operations and settlements, especially in PJM, MISO, and ERCOT, is preferred.

The Commercial Analyst will primarily be responsible for Back/Middle Office activities of the Commercial team, with a focus on performing settlement calculations, revenue reporting, and reviewing contracts for tracking obligations. The Commercial Analyst’s responsibilities will include the maintenance and management of revenue- centric models that facilitate the distribution of investor reporting and invoicing, as well as the development of automation tools to streamline commercial processes.
