Requirements
  • The employee must perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The employee must pass the pre-hire competency test and the 90-day probationary period competency test.

Responsibilities
  • The employee serves as the liaison between the public and the facility and performs other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • The employee maintains a clean and healthy workspace and patient area.
  • The employee completes all daily front-desk activities.
  • The employee answers the telephone and assists callers.
  • The employee schedules and confirms patient appointments according to the Front Desk Manual.
  • The employee maintains the required daily registration schedule or phone-call volume, depending on role.
  • The employee assists the medical and dental records department by scanning, queuing and indexing, sorting, filing, and pulling charts as needed.
  • The employee distributes and screens incoming and outgoing mail.
  • The employee collects patient account payments and balances.
  • The employee assists patients in completing registration forms.
  • The employee assists patients with accessing healthcare services.
  • The employee informs patients about other health centers and community services.
  • The employee accurately enters patient demographic information into the practice management system.
  • The employee provides care appropriate to the age of patients served.
  • The employee works with the back office to address Clinical Quality Measure gaps.
  • The employee supports Follow My Health enrollment.
  • The employee closes chart notes within 24 hours of service.
  • The employee acknowledges each patient's arrival and offers assistance.
  • The employee addresses patients by their last name.
  • The employee answers each call within three rings and uses the specified professional greeting.
  • The employee checks in with callers when a call is on hold for two minutes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Word processing skills are desirable.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish ability is preferred.
  • Knowledge of a medical records system is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a medical or dental setting is preferred.
