Requirements
  • A master's degree in a relevant field, such as science education, and/or extensive relevant experience as a school educator, pedagogue, or community educator.
  • Expert knowledge of elementary science pedagogy as outlined in the course description.
  • Expert knowledge of research on elementary science pedagogy and research on elementary students’ scientific thinking and practice.
  • Experience as a master teacher or instructor in science, mathematics, or a related field in the Quebec educational system.
  • Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program.
  • Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
  • Previous successful experience teaching similar courses at the undergraduate level.
  • Knowledge of the impact of pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a proven record of integrating them.
  • Familiarity with myCourses, Zoom, and similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Familiarity with a variety of digital teaching and learning tools.
  • High proficiency in French and ability to teach in French.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec at the campus where the position is based.
  • English communication skills, verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities
  • Teach EDEE 273-004, Elementary School Science 2, in French. The course studies science programs and teaching strategies appropriate for helping elementary school children appreciate the nature and methods of scientific inquiry.
  • Attend a course coordination meeting at least two weeks before the course start date.
  • Work with a team of instructors.
Desired Qualifications
  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with teaching blended classes.
  • Familiarity with practice-based pedagogies in science teacher education.

Club M&A and McGill's Dobson Centre launch acquisition programme as $218B in Canadian businesses set for ownership transition

Club M&A Canada and McGill's Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship have opened registration for their first Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition programme. The intensive four-day course, running 27–30 October in Montreal, targets professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in acquiring existing small or medium-sized businesses. The programme addresses a significant succession challenge in Canada. According to the Business Development Bank of Canada, nearly one in five Canadian businesses will undergo ownership transition within five years, representing over $300 billion in business revenue. Marc Deegan, founder of R33 Ventures, will serve as programme director. The curriculum covers developing investment theses, target evaluation, financial and legal considerations, acquisition financing, and post-acquisition transition. Instructors include transaction professionals, lawyers, tax specialists, investors, and entrepreneurs with acquisition experience. Admission is by application, with no prior M&A experience required.
