Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A college and/or culinary degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of progressive cook or kitchen experience is required, preferably in a hotel setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels inside and outside the organization and solve problems with team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work extended hours based on business needs, including walking, standing, carrying, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Availability to work AM or PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food items in accordance with company and brand quality standards.
  • Support other cooks and enforce compliance with health regulations.
  • Ensure food quality and production meet standards through daily line checks, ongoing consistency and quality audits, follow-up, and implementation of improvements.
  • Develop standard operating procedures to maximize quality.
  • Ensure food preparation and delivery standards are met for banquet events and restaurant, room service, concierge, and à la carte service.
  • Ensure outstanding presentation by using records and photographs and monitoring plate setups against photo-record standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu changes, use records, and photographs.
  • Follow procurement guidelines and apply business judgment to control food costs while maximizing food and beverage revenue.
  • Manage and maintain company assets within budget guidelines and prolong the life of company resources.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by meeting food and beverage standards and addressing guest concerns promptly and efficiently.
  • Work alongside kitchen staff to model operational standards, including meeting ticket times while maintaining food quality.
  • Follow food safety and food storage standards and maintain quality, food and beverage, and kitchen and restaurant standards in compliance with company, brand, and governmental regulations.
  • Follow company procedures for guest and team-member incidents.
  • Manage workload effectively, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, promote collaboration, and adhere to standard operating procedures.

  • Two or more years of experience as a cook in a restaurant or hotel of similar size and reputation for outstanding service.
