Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.
  • Two years of job-related experience, or 30 hours of college, or a combination of the two.
  • Ability to type 30 words per minute or 60 keystrokes per minute.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and standard word-processing software.
  • Ability to pass at least one department-determined clerical or administrative skills test, which may include 10-key, coding, data entry, filing, grammar, mathematics, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, proofreading, spelling, sorting, or timed typing.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, organize and process work, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with county employees and the general public.
  • Ability to work with juveniles who may have committed dangerous or aggressive acts and tolerate an emotionally demanding or stressful work environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods and lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted.
Responsibilities
  • Receive, prepare, verify, and process documents, instruments, records, bills, payments, and receipts.
  • Input data to complete routine correspondence, forms, reports, and documents.
  • Research, locate, pull, and prepare documents, records, and other assigned data.
  • Answer routine inquiries and resolve basic customer-service issues.
  • Collect, input, update, and reconcile data, funds, or inventory, and maintain filing and storage of documents and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
