- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician registration and Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification or an EXCPT certificate are required.
- The employee must remain in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy, including maintaining registration and paying required fees.
- One to three years of related work experience is required.
- Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access, is required.
- The employee must be able to prepare simple and complex pharmaceutical calculations.
- The employee must be familiar with medications, including generic and trade names, methods of administration, and conversion between metric and apothecary systems.
- Staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
- Restock automated dispensing machines and floor stock medications, following relevant Epic workflows including loading medications, dispensing doses, dispense tracking, and fulfilling cart-fill items.
- Deliver all medications in compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration, Department of Public Health, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Prepare and deliver intravenous medications in accordance with Federal United States Pharmacopeia 797 and United States Pharmacopeia 800 standards.
- Maintain records pertaining to intravenous admixtures, maintain cleanliness in sterile areas, and complete relevant quality assurance processes.
- Compound non-sterile products and repackage bulk medication supplies in unit-of-use packaging in accordance with Federal United States Pharmacopeia 795 and United States Pharmacopeia 800 standards.
- Check for expired medications within the pharmacy and automated dispensing cabinets and dispose of expired or damaged medications in accordance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
- Train and mentor students and pharmacy technicians.
- Prepare specialized sterile and non-sterile products, including total parenteral nutrition, neonatal medications, hazardous medications, chemotherapeutic medications, and study medications, in accordance with Federal United States Pharmacopeia 797, United States Pharmacopeia 795, and United States Pharmacopeia 800 standards.
- Suggest workflow efficiencies and work with Technician III staff and lead technicians to implement new practices.
- Maintain staffing in two or more areas of the pharmacy.
- Communicate with pharmacists and nursing staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of medications.
- Deliver medications, including controlled substances, to nursing areas and ancillary departments in accordance with established policies and procedures and Drug Enforcement Administration and Department of Public Health regulations.
- Three to six months of experience as a hospital pharmacy technician.

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
