What believers are saying

  • Q2 2026 revenue reached $228 million, up 18%, with gross margin near 62%.
  • Singapore cleared TI's Silicon Labs acquisition on August 7, 2026, reducing one regulatory hurdle.
  • India's 500,000-module Wi-SUN deployment and Philips Hue wins validate commercial demand.

What critics are saying

  • Texas Instruments acquisition closes only after approvals, pushing uncertainty into first half 2027.
  • TI can reprice roadmaps, cut standalone Silicon Labs teams, and alienate customers post-close.
  • Broadcom, Nordic, and NXP squeeze wireless margins; one failed review kills the $7.5 billion deal.

What makes Silicon Laboratories unique

  • Series 3 chips target complex, low-power IoT with 22nm compute and security.
  • Silicon Labs powers concurrent Matter and Zigbee in Philips Hue bulbs, June 2026.
  • BG2B combines Bluetooth 6, Secure Vault High, and integrated CAN-FD for smaller devices.

Silicon Labs launches AI developer platform with Simplicity AI SDK to simplify IoT development and scale edge intelligence

Silicon Labs has launched several initiatives to simplify IoT development and scale edge intelligence. The company announced the public beta of its Simplicity AI SDK, which supports AI coding assistants including GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Codex. Silicon Labs also introduced Simplicity Design Intelligence, designed to help developers turn hardware and software intent into working products. Hardware Intent is the first capability, using product requirements and board schematics to guide configuration and identify potential issues before fabrication. The company is launching an open-source developer community in beta, starting with Bluetooth Low Energy. Developers can access sample applications, raise issues, and contribute code through pull requests. Additionally, Silicon Labs is partnering with Databricks to integrate edge AI development with enterprise data and AI workflows. The Silicon Labs MLOps SDK connects devices with Databricks to help capture data and manage model development.
