Requirements
- Follow safe work practices in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E, and facility safety requirements.
- Use lockout/tagout, maintain arc flash awareness, follow personal protective equipment requirements, and apply confined-space, hot-work, fall-protection, and safe material-handling practices.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and controls; read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Understand industrial electrical systems and controls, including programmable logic controllers, drives, motors, sensors, and automation components; have a basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Use digital multimeters, megohmmeters, calibrators and testing equipment, network cable testing tools, and computerized maintenance management systems.
- Perform electrical calculations and unit conversions and understand voltage, current, resistance, and power relationships.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Have previous electrical maintenance, industrial electrician, or related technical experience.
- Be able to troubleshoot electrical and control systems and read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and install manufacturing equipment and systems, including motors and motor controls, electrical distribution systems, motor control centers, drives, inverters, converters, reactors, programmable logic controllers, industrial control systems, robotics, automation equipment, and facility electrical systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, control, and process-related equipment issues affecting safety, quality, or production; identify root causes of equipment failures, read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, test and verify repairs, document findings, and recommend improvements.
- Complete preventive maintenance inspections and tasks; repair or replace components based on equipment condition; assist with maintenance planning and documentation updates; and use computerized maintenance management systems to manage work orders and maintenance records.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and reliability initiatives, including motor and drive replacement, control system upgrades, programmable logic controller hardware installation, equipment modifications, process improvement projects, and production and quality enhancement initiatives.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams; share knowledge and assist in developing less experienced team members; participate in training and skill development; and support safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
- Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
- Technical school, apprenticeship, military, or vocational training in electrical systems.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, robotics, automation, or industrial control systems.
- Electrical certifications or related technical credentials.
