About the job
- More than 5 years of experience in workshop, vehicle repair, or vehicle maintenance roles, including 2 or more years leading a team.
- Strong technical knowledge of automotive or campervan repair; a degree in automotive mechatronics or a similar field is an advantage.
- Experience training and coaching other technicians.
- Knowledge of stock and spare-parts management systems.
- Experience in budget management and a results-oriented approach.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, organization, and attention to detail.
- A high sense of responsibility and accountability.
- Good level of English; knowledge of the local language is an advantage.
- Eligible to work in Portugal, with a valid driver's license and confidence driving a campervan.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
- Flexibility and availability to travel, including the possibility of working abroad for specific periods depending on the project.
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance team's daily activities, including schedule planning, task allocation, and performance evaluations.
- Provide practical guidance and training to ensure RFAs and interns develop their technical skills and meet company standards.
- Plan, prioritize, and supervise campervan repair and maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.
- Act as the primary contact for complex or escalated technical issues, and perform repairs when workload requires.
- Coordinate vehicle interventions with external suppliers and regional teams.
- Monitor stock levels of tools, spare parts, and consumables to ensure availability for operations.
- Coordinate with external suppliers for repairs outside internal scope and for spare-parts procurement; negotiate cost-efficient purchasing agreements.
- Maintain accurate spare-parts inventory, including consumption flows, receiving, and stock counts.
- Track and report workshop performance metrics, including fleet availability, repair times, and budget compliance.
- Propose process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Manage the maintenance business unit at the Lisbon workshop, including responsibility for maintenance depot P&L.
- A degree in automotive mechatronics or a similar field.
- Knowledge of the local language.
