Requirements
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable background check per company standards are required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate exceptional focus on delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Knowledge of water restoration and its practices is required; plumbing experience is not required.
  • Candidates must be organized, self-starting, and outgoing.
  • Working knowledge of common software programs such as Word and Excel, as well as Roto-Rooter-specific computer programs, is required.
  • Previous outside sales experience is considered, with in-home services experience strongly desired.
  • Candidates must maintain IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician and Applied Structural Drying Technician certification in Water Damage Restoration.
  • Candidates must be medically cleared to wear a respirator and complete a respirator fit test.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and sell opportunities to mitigate residential and commercial property damage caused by water.
  • Assess properties to determine moisture levels and the need for demolition and drying to acceptable levels.
  • Proactively follow up with existing customers to deliver solutions for plumbing or water-related issues.
  • Use the established pricing matrix and/or insurance guidelines to provide competitive quotes for repair and replacement options and close sales.
  • Serve as a trusted information resource for Roto-Rooter customers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous outside sales experience with in-home services is strongly desired.

Roto-Rooter provides 24/7 plumbing repair, drain cleaning, sewer service, and water cleanup for residential and commercial customers. It also manufactures its own drain-cleaning equipment and sells it to franchisees. Technicians use patented drain-cleaning machines and cables to clear roots and blockages in sewer lines, perform pipe and fixture repairs, water damage restoration, and other plumbing tasks. The company operates through a mix of company-owned and independently owned franchises, enabling service across more than 600 locations and covering over 90% of the U.S. population and a large portion of Canada, with international franchises in several countries. Its goal is to offer reliable emergency plumbing and comprehensive plumbing and water damage services at scale while growing its network and leveraging its proprietary equipment to support strong customer service.
