Requirements
  • A PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an American Psychological Association- or Canadian Psychological Association-accredited graduate program is required.
  • Completion of an American Psychological Association- or Canadian Psychological Association-approved internship is required.
  • Completion of post-doctoral training in neurodevelopmental disabilities is required.
  • Applicants must be immediately eligible for licensure in West Virginia.
  • Candidates must demonstrate awareness of and adherence to evidence-based strategies for evaluating and treating neurodevelopmental disorders.
Responsibilities
  • Practice child psychology, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of developmental disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Provide patient care to children ages 0–15 served at the WVU Medicine Children's Neurodevelopmental Center.
  • Work primarily within an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat patients.
  • Teach medical students, residents, psychology graduate students, and fellows.
  • Participate in clinical, teaching, supervision, and research activities.
  • Participate in the training-focused American Psychological Association-accredited clinical psychology internship in the Clinical Child Track and the Pediatric Fellowship.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary clinics across the hospital system.
  • Provide outreach and training for families and statewide providers.
