About the job
- Two years of experience in Missouri and Illinois is required.
- A high school diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience is required.
- The employee must be able to stand and walk constantly.
- The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 0–25 pounds; reach, grip, and use a keyboard for data entry; use near and far vision; and use hearing and speech to share information and hear alarms or malfunctioning machinery.
- The employee must occasionally bend, stoop, climb, crawl, kneel, sit, squat, twist, and perform repetitive foot, leg, hand, and arm movements.
- The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 25–50 pounds.
- The employee must occasionally use vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and identify and distinguish colors.
- The employee must rarely use smell to detect or recognize odors and rarely drive.
- Plan, assemble, install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, steam lines, compressed-air lines, oxygen lines, vacuum lines, and related systems throughout the hospital complex and adjunct facilities.
- Maintain existing water, gas, air, steam, and other utilities in proper working condition.
- Complete work orders and maintain records of time spent on each job.
- Document preventive maintenance and work orders daily.
- Use verbal and written feedback to keep peers and team members informed of progress and problems.
- Comply with safety policies and regulations and ensure safe practices for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Attend mandatory safety in-services and safety competence assessments.
- Comply with regulatory, accreditation, hospital, and department policies and procedures.
- Provide support during various codes and emergencies.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
