  • The role requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently, and standing or moving for most of the shift.
  • Staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Produce food products according to standardized recipes for the cafeteria, patient tray line, or catering, following established production plans and recording systems.
  • Prepare hot and cold foods, including soups, salads, entrees, gravies, side dishes, baked goods, and desserts; cut, slice, dice, measure, and mix food according to recipes; and assemble meals.
  • Assess food quality, respond appropriately to substandard products, and present food attractively with appropriate garnishes.
  • Safely operate, clean, sanitize, and store food-service equipment, including mixers, slicers, vertical cutters, ovens, grills, steamers, fryers, and food processors.
  • Organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple meal-ticket production activities to ensure plates meet quality, temperature, and presentation standards, prioritizing diabetic trays and trays waiting longer in the queue.
  • Communicate with the starter position about which trays to set up based on food preparation times, and coordinate production with team members in assigned work areas, including the grill, broiler, deli station, fryer, stovetop, and TurboChef.
  • Prevent food cross-contamination; store and identify food products; record unusable or unsafe food and notify a supervisor; and maintain food-storage sanitation and temperature in accordance with HACCP standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Vocational or technical training in Culinary Arts is preferred.
  • A ServeSafe Certificate 1 is preferred.
  • Three years of food production experience in a high-volume food-service establishment is preferred.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
