Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to five years of experience working directly in a print center.
  • Familiarity with general print-center job functions and a minimal understanding of detailed job aspects.
  • Knowledge of operating low- to high-volume, high-speed duplicating equipment.
  • Proficiency with reproduction-related equipment and systems, including fax machines, scanners, punches, staplers, inserters, folders, paper cutters, spiral binders, velo binders, stitchers, collators, and counters.
  • Ability to work overtime and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow directives and handle the physical demands of the role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, lift, and stand while stacking print output into boxes or containers.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Review, prioritize, and submit print requests from mainframe, mini, server, and desktop systems according to complexity and urgency, and quality-check the output against submitted instructions.
  • Deliver print jobs within established timeframes and maintain work and service logs.
  • Perform minor reproduction-equipment maintenance, including resolving paper jams, placing service calls, and conducting routine cleaning.
  • Take daily meter readings from each duplicating machine and monitor print-supply inventory, including paper and toner.
  • Inform clients about estimated completion times, unclear instructions, service delays, or unavailable services, and work with clients to resolve complaints.
  • Help open and close the print center and keep it neat and professional.
  • Use printer software to adjust image quality and create folders and directories for print-on-demand orders on high-speed, high-volume digital publishing printers.
  • Produce specialized print jobs such as large-paper printing, poster copying, and manual or handbook-sized printing.
  • Prepare monthly production and volume reports to measure productivity and prepare billing charges.
  • Send, receive, and deliver faxes as directed.
  • Perform document scanning as requested.
  • Prepare mail and packages for shipping orders as directed.
  • Provide light housekeeping, including making coffee and keeping conference rooms orderly, as directed.
  • Learn new features and functionalities of duplicating machines, fax machines, and scanners as office-automation technology changes.
  • Perform mailroom responsibilities and other duties as directed by the Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager.
