Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Follow complex defined test plans and datasheets with necessary supervision and support.
  • Evaluate test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.
  • Record and explain test results and complete test reports.
  • Serve as Project Lead for simple test programs as assigned, with necessary assistance.
  • Communicate project status and results as needed.
  • Define test plans, complete accurate reports, meet agreed deadlines, and manage project-related activities.
  • Examine complex customer samples with assistance and learn to operate appropriate tests for each case.
  • Communicate with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
  • Understand specific test standards and product technology within the assigned scope of responsibility.
  • Direct, build, or adapt simple test setups and equipment based on test plans and engineering instructions.
  • Operate and maintain complex test equipment to measure and test customer samples.
  • Perform complex maintenance on designated test equipment and the laboratory area.
  • Perform complex calibration of test equipment when required.
  • Integrate basic continuous-improvement concepts and techniques for processes and equipment.
  • Communicate with management and technical staff to suggest new equipment, processes, and forms that improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and all physical and digital security practices.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

UL Solutions opens automotive EMC laboratory in Japan's Toyota City

UL Solutions has opened a new automotive electromagnetic compatibility laboratory in Toyota City, Japan, beginning operations on 1 July. The 2,323-square-metre facility will provide EMC testing to help manufacturers protect vehicles from interference affecting critical systems like braking and steering. The Automotive Technology and Innovation Centre is among few EMC laboratories in Japan equipped for high-voltage, high-current, high-torque and high-speed rotational testing. Its chambers can handle up to 25,000 RPM and power supplies delivering up to 1,500 volts and 1,000 amps. Located in Japan's Tokai region, the facility strengthens UL Solutions' global EMC testing network and supports automakers in the world's third-largest vehicle market, which produced over 8 million vehicles in 2025.
