About the company

Doctolib runs a digital healthcare platform that connects patients with healthcare professionals, mainly in France, Germany, and Italy. It provides online appointment booking, teleconsultation, and practice-management tools through subscription-based software for medical practices, hospitals, and individual clinicians. The platform helps patients find and book care quickly while giving providers a centralized system to manage schedules, patient communications, and administrative tasks. Unlike many options that focus on one feature, Doctolib combines patient access with practice management in a single solution, serving multiple types of healthcare clients across several European countries. The company’s goal is to make healthcare more efficient and easier to access by streamlining operations for providers and reducing barriers to care for patients, using a scalable subscription model to grow across markets.

Macron backs NVIDIA investment to boost France's AI startups and research.

Macron backs NVIDIA investment to boost France's AI startups and research. Published: 14 October 2026 NVIDIA announced plans to buy minority stakes in four French tech startups: Doctolib, Genesis AI, Pigment, and Entalpic. At an event in Paris, CEO Jensen Huang said the investments would help speed up AI development across Europe. Huang also pledged to invest another $2 billion in Europe's tech sector. This would bring NVIDIA's recent financial commitments to the region to nearly $10 billion. French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed the investment as proof that France is a leading destination for AI development, pointing to its engineers, computing facilities, and tech companies. The funding will also support a joint French-German research project, giving local startups access to NVIDIA's computing technology to develop AI tools for healthcare, robotics, and chemistry. Europe depends on Asian semiconductor manufacturing. France is attracting investment to grow its AI industry, but the country still depends on foreign manufacturers for the advanced chips needed to run AI models. Most advanced AI chips are made in Asia. Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) produce chips for major technology companies. South Korea's SK Hynix supplies high-bandwidth memory used in AI systems. X commenter @Yyuke2333 highlighted this gap, arguing that France cannot compete with Asian manufacturing hubs in the chip supply chain. The user argued that the entire French tech sector cannot compete with the hardware output of Beijing and Shanghai, and pointed out the economic reality that France's entire national gross domestic product is now smaller than Nvidia's $5.48 trillion market capitalization. Nvidia's investment in Doctolib raises concerns over French patients' medical data. The companies receiving this new funding are generating intense public concern regarding data sovereignty. Doctolib is a healthcare platform that handles sensitive medical scheduling and patient records for millions of citizens across France, Germany, and Italy. Doctolib's executives assured the public that the new capital would be used strictly to develop in-house AI tools while preserving complete control over patient records. However, privacy advocates are raising immediate red flags over the involvement of an American hardware giant. Online observer @thomaisERT_RIK questioned the true motive behind Nvidia's equity purchase, expressing fear that the partnership may exists to harvest highly sensitive European medical data to train future AI models. These US investments also raise questions about whether Europe's economic model can keep up with the fast-moving AI industry. Another X commenter @elvillegaschile argued that Europe's strict regulations and social welfare system could slow AI development. France's AI expansion may face crypto regulatory requirements. NVIDIA's growing presence in France is helping local companies develop AI products and grow computing capacity. But startups such as io.net and Akash Network are going beyond conventional AI services by building decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) that connect AI developers with distributed GPU providers and use crypto tokens to reward those supplying computing power. If a project issues tokens or operates a crypto trading or custody service, it may face additional regulatory requirements. However, renting out computing power does not automatically bring a project under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). In another development, a consortium backed by BlackRock and IFM Investors is in exclusive talks to acquire Stack Infrastructure's Asia-Pacific data centre portfolio in a deal valued at between $20 billion and $25 billion. The group includes the BlackRock-backed Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Partnership (AIP), an AI infrastructure investment vehicle co-founded with Microsoft, Nvidia, xAI and MGX. Nvidia stock in focus: AI group invests in doctors' platform Doctolib.

Nvidia stock in focus: AI group invests in doctors' platform Doctolib. Oct 13, 2026, 10:19 p.m. US chipmaker Nvidia is taking a minority stake in the French doctors' platform Doctolib. Doctolib CEO Stanislas Niox-Chateau announced this in Paris in the evening. "This investment will enable us to attract AI talent more quickly and drive our development forward," he stressed. It initially remained unclear how many shares Nvidia would acquire. With Nvidia's investment, Doctolib aims to further develop its own artificial intelligence-based solutions and models in Europe, the company announced. In Germany, Doctolib is known primarily for its online platform through which patients can book appointments with medical practices. Another core product is the AI telephone assistant, which medical practices can also use to organize appointments by phone. The company also offers solutions for administrative and accounting tasks in practices. Doctolib builds its own applications on existing language models. With Nvidia's investment, the company says it hopes to gain access to the US group's AI experts and support in training its own models. Nvidia chips: central engine of the AI boom Nvidia, in turn, is the central engine of the AI boom with its chip products for data centers. Above all, cloud heavyweights such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Meta are investing hundreds of billions of dollars in expanding AI data centers. Most recently, Nvidia strengthened its position with a multibillion-dollar acquisition of the AI platform Hugging Face. The group often uses the billions in profits from its chip sales for investments - usually in companies that are customers of the group. Doctolib emphasized that all of the company's health data were stored on servers within the European Union and the United Kingdom and remained there. "This also applies to the AI models," it said. The Nvidia stock ultimately traded 0.27 percent higher at $229.15 in Nasdaq trading. /maa/DP/men Berlin (dpa-AFX) Selected leveraged products on Amazon.
