Requirements
  • A currently licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Washington.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Geriatric or rehabilitation experience, supervisory experience, and a good understanding of restorative nursing.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 70% of the workday.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, turn, and position residents weighing up to 125 pounds unassisted, or heavier residents with assistance from one person.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work with close attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and operate the 14-bed assisted living wing and 12-bed memory care wing in cooperation with the Director of Nursing and Associate Executive Director.
  • Oversee resident care, manage staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain a safe and supportive resident environment.
  • Supervise direct nursing care for the entire Health Center.
  • Administer direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated.
  • Conduct routine rounds to ensure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.
  • Assure the accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  • Assist with new-resident admissions and conduct pre-admission screenings.
  • Coordinate, conduct, and document Minimum Data Set resident care plans and conferences in the absence of the Minimum Data Set Coordinator.
  • Supervise all Health Center personnel and participate in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of staff.
  • Assist with the orientation of all Health Center staff.
  • Participate in family and resident counseling.
  • Respond to emergency calls as necessary.
  • Function as the Director of Nursing in their absence.
  • Ensure effective communication with other shifts and departments regarding resident care.
  • Provide on-call coverage as required.
  • Ensure the timeliness of physician visits.
  • Accompany physicians during rounds.
  • Notify physicians and families of changes in residents' conditions.
  • Encourage rehabilitative techniques to restore residents' independence.
  • Ensure proper functioning of medical equipment and adequate medical supplies.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Assist with infection control, safety, and pharmacy rounds and audits.
  • Attend assigned in-service training and education sessions.
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
  • Work in conditions involving frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting, possible offensive odors, combative behavior, and exposure to communicable diseases.
