Bamboo Health and Texas Health Services Authority expand access to real-time event notifications across 75% of Texas acute care facilities.

Bamboo Health and Texas Health Services Authority expand access to real-time event notifications across 75% of Texas acute care facilities. August 19, 2026 New partnership strengthens statewide care coordination, turning real-time patient event data into actionable insights that improve outcomes. AUSTIN, Texas, August 19, 2026 - Bamboo Health, a leader in care navigation and care coordination, and the Texas Health Services Authority (THSA), operator of HIETexas, today announced a live bidirectional data-sharing partnership that expands access to real-time patient event notifications across approximately 75% of Texas acute care facilities. The partnership enables healthcare organizations connected to either Bamboo Health or THSA to receive a broader stream of real-time admission, discharge and transfer (ADT) notifications through a single connection. By expanding access to timely patient event data and turning it into outcomes based on actionable insights, the collaboration helps providers, health plans and care teams coordinate care more effectively as patients move across hospitals, emergency departments and other care settings. This data brings new visibility to pivotal care moments where timely action is critical, such as a discharge that needs follow-up or an ED visit after a behavioral health episode, enabling care teams to intervene faster and improve outcomes. That combination of real-time data and care navigation has helped Bamboo Health's provider partners reduce avoidable utilization by 20%. Organizations that participate with THSA were found to have fewer hospital readmissions and potentially preventable ED visits saving Medicaid approximately $8M in 2024. Patients increasingly receive care from multiple providers and health systems throughout Texas, yet many healthcare organizations still rely on fragmented data networks that require multiple interfaces to gain a complete picture of patient activity. By connecting their complementary networks, Bamboo Health and THSA are not only reducing that complexity but also strengthening statewide interoperability and enabling organizations to turn more complete, real-time information into insights and decisive action. "Healthcare organizations don't need more data, they need to be able to act on connected data that provides the right information at the moment it can improve care," said Jeff Smith, CEO of Bamboo Health. "This partnership expands the reach of real-time patient event data across Texas, giving providers and health plans broader visibility into care transitions so they can intervene sooner, coordinate care more effectively and improve outcomes." The collaboration brings together two organizations with complementary capabilities and a shared commitment to improving healthcare through better data exchange. With THSA and Bamboo Health broadening the flow of real-time data across Texas while translating those data points into care moments that need timely action, both recognize that expanding access to real-time information benefits the providers, payers and communities beyond just data access. It also enables organizations to improve care coordination outcomes. "Patients don't experience healthcare one organization at a time, and health information shouldn't be limited by organizational boundaries," said Phil Beckett, Ph.D., CEO of Texas Health Services Authority. "By connecting our networks, we're making it easier for organizations to access timely patient event information through a single connection. It's a collaborative approach that strengthens interoperability across Texas while preserving choice for providers and ultimately improving care for Texans." The partnership supports a wide range of healthcare organizations, including hospitals, physician groups, accountable care organizations, health plans and community providers, by expanding visibility into patient encounters across care settings. Texas' expanded event-notification reach across the state enables healthcare organizations to: * Improve care transitions after hospital visits * Strengthen post-discharge follow-up * Coordinate care across providers * Support value-based care initiatives * Improve care in rural and underserved communities The agreement also reflects a broader shift in healthcare interoperability, from simply exchanging data to ensuring that information is available when and where it is needed to support timely clinical and operational decisions. By expanding statewide access to real-time patient event data, Bamboo Health can help healthcare organizations turn that access into pivotal care moments, real-time action and improved patient outcomes across Texas. Solutions like Automated Transitions and Bamboo Bridge can help Texas organizations turn data points into action, driving everything from timely follow-up after an acute visit to unifying behavioral and physical health. Beyond Texas, Bamboo Health brings a track record of measurable results. Leading provider groups working with Bamboo Health have reported a 20% reduction in avoidable utilization, while leading Medicaid health plans have seen quality scores such as Follow-Up after Hospitalization climb from the 34th to the 95th percentile. Today, Bamboo Health's platform connects more than 2,500 hospitals, 30 health plans, 45,000 pharmacies and 8,000 post-acute facilities nationwide, giving partners like THSA a proven foundation for turning connected data into better outcomes at scale. About Bamboo Health Bamboo Health improves lives during pivotal care moments - the critical points in a patient's journey where timely action changes outcomes. Through its AI-forward, human-in-the-loop platform, powered by more than 3 billion care moments each year, Bamboo Health replace fragmented point solutions and manual outreach with coordinated, AI-driven action that delivers better outcomes. Client outcomes and healthcare innovation earn Bamboo Health CEO jeff Smith recognition on Becker's 2026 top health Leaders list.

Client outcomes and healthcare innovation earn Bamboo Health CEO jeff Smith recognition on Becker's 2026 top health Leaders list. Recognition validates Bamboo Health's ability to connect 3 billion pivotal care moments to action and outcomes through AI-forward, human-in-the-loop solutions LOUISVILLE, Ky.-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Jeff Smith, Chief Executive Officer at Bamboo Health, has been named to Becker's Hospital Review's "Great Leaders in Healthcare 2026" list, recognizing executives advancing innovation, improving outcomes and shaping the future of healthcare. Bamboo Health is delivering real, measurable results for clients across the country - leading provider groups reporting a 20% reduction in avoidable utilization, and leading Medicaid plans seeing quality scores, such as Follow-Up after Hospitalization (FUH), jump from the 34th to the 90th percentile. These outcomes reflect a fundamental shift in how Bamboo operates: where others offer fragmented point solutions, manual outreach and siloed data, Bamboo delivers a single AI-forward, human-in-the-loop platform that connects pivotal care moments - the critical points in a patient's journey, such as a hospital discharge, a missed medication or a behavioral health crisis - directly to coordinated action. The Becker's recognition reflects this impact. Under Smith's leadership, Bamboo Health has built a platform connecting more than 2,500 hospitals, 30 health plans, 45,000 pharmacies and 8,000 post-acute facilities. By linking pivotal moments to next-best actions and outcomes within a single integrated platform, Bamboo helps health plans lift quality scores and reduce the cost of care and enables health systems and physician groups to improve transitions of care back to primary care physicians, driving stronger follow-up and greater efficiency with existing staff. A key driver of this impact is Bamboo Bridge(R), which identifies high-need, high-cost patients - including those with underlying behavioral health needs - at critical moments and connects them to the right care in real time through technology-enabled navigation and curated provider networks. Complementing this is Automated Transitions, Bamboo's AI-enabled workflow solution that uses proprietary real-time data to catch patients at the pivotal moment, trigger immediate, coordinated outreach and guide next best actions - automating engagement, intake, scheduling and visit adherence to ensure patients show up for care, along with documentation so care teams can focus their energy on the clinical decisions and patient relationships that only humans can provide. Together, these solutions equip care teams with real-time insights and the ability to act on them at scale - enabling more timely interventions, stronger continuity of care and faster access to the right treatment, ultimately helping to improve outcomes. The result: better quality scores, fewer avoidable hospitalizations, lower ED utilization and meaningful gains in staff efficiency, all without adding headcount. "This recognition belongs to our team and the clients and patients we serve," said Smith. "Our purpose is simple: improve lives during pivotal care moments - and we measure that by the outcomes we deliver. With more than 3 billion moments flowing through our platform each year, Bamboo is uniquely positioned to deliver as an AI-forward company - with real depth, rapid time-to-value and a track record of outcomes that matter." Bamboo Health's approach combines AI-powered action with human expertise to deliver rapid time-to-value - enabling healthcare organizations to act on real-time information at scale. As clinicians, states, the federal government, including the US Department of Veterans Affairs and health plans increasingly seek solutions that go beyond generating insights to driving meaningful engagement, coordination and outcomes, Bamboo's evolution from data company to AI-enabled outcomes platform positions it at the center of that conversation. "Providers and health plans are often the first to recognize when an individual needs behavioral health support, but without the right tools, ensuring these individuals quickly receive effective care is a persistent challenge," said Jeff Smith, CEO of Bamboo Health. "Bamboo Bridge changes that dynamic - combining intelligent care coordination with curated networks of high-quality providers to ensure successful placement and care completion at pivotal moments when timely, coordinated care makes all the difference." Results from Bamboo Bridge programs with leading provider groups and health plans, such as Privia Medical Group - Georgia, CareSource and Tufts Medicine, demonstrate unparalleled improvements in access, utilization and network retention for high-need, high-cost individuals with underlying behavioral health conditions: * 20% reduction in avoidable inpatient and ED encounters * 64% of patients with a validated screening assessment and intake completed * 28% increase in behavioral health services retained within Privia's network "Behavioral health has always been a priority for our organization," said Ryan Graham, Vice President of Practice Operations & Value-Based Care at Privia Health. "We needed a scalable, proactive approach to ensure patients could access the right care at the right time, especially during critical transition points. State Of Ohio Taps Bamboo Health To Reduce Fatal Drug Overdoses

State of Ohio Taps Bamboo Health to Reduce Fatal Drug Overdoses. by Fred Pennic 03/21/2025 Leave a Comment. Image by freepikWhat You Should Know: – In a proactive effort to combat the ongoing opioid epidemic and reduce drug overdose fatalities, Bamboo Health™, a leader in Real-Time Care Intelligence™, is partnering with the State of Ohio to strengthen its prescription drug monitoring system, the Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System (OARRS). – The strategic collaboration will introduce a critical new feature, OD Insights™, designed to alert healthcare providers within their existing workflows if a patient has a prior history of drug overdoses.OD Insights to Reduce Fatal Drug OverdosesResearch has consistently demonstrated that individuals who have experienced a non-fatal drug overdose are at a significantly heightened risk of a subsequent, fatal overdose. OD Insights™, integrated into Bamboo Health’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program suite, aims to improve care coordination and empower emergency departments to connect high-risk patients with the most appropriate treatment options, including access to medication for opioid use disorder and other essential tools for overdose prevention.By seamlessly integrating into OARRS, OD Insights provides timely and relevant data to support informed clinical decision-making, while maintaining the stringent safeguards that protect prescription data. This enhancement allows providers to securely access a patient’s controlled substance use history at the point of care, enabling them to make more informed prescribing decisions as part of a comprehensive, multi-faceted response to the opioid crisis.Providing healthcare providers with the ability to readily identify high-risk patients has the potential to be life-saving. Data from the Ohio Board of Pharmacy reveals the urgency of this intervention:In 2022, at least 32% of Ohioans who died from an unintentional drug overdose had a prior history of a non-fatal overdose.26% of those who suffered a fatal overdose in 2022 received a prescription for a controlled substance from a healthcare provider within 60 days of their death.“The Ohio Board of Pharmacy continues to be at the forefront of leveraging technology to address the opioid epidemic,” said Ross Armstrong, Chief Commercial Officer at Bamboo Health
