About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Operations, Business, Management, or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in Field Service, outage execution, maintenance, installation, service operations, productivity, or continuous improvement in power generation or a comparable industrial environment.
  • At least 6 years of experience with Nuclear Steam Turbine and/or Generator outage execution, planning, field operations, methods, tooling, upgrades, or service engineering.
Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional nuclear outage productivity projects across the full lifecycle, from idea generation and problem definition through pilot, validation, standardization, deployment, handover, and sustainment.
  • Identify, frame, and prioritize productivity opportunities based on field pain points, bottlenecks, waste, customer value, technical feasibility, and business impact.
  • Translate opportunities into structured projects with clear problem statements, scope, applicability, expected benefits, success criteria, and deployment requirements.
  • Drive productivity improvements for Nuclear Steam Turbine and Generator outage services and Steam Turbine upgrades, including planning, preparation, tooling, field execution, outage support, and standard work deployment.
  • Lead Kaizen events, LORaP workshops, and working sessions to develop practical, field-ready solutions and align stakeholders on implementation requirements.
  • Define and execute pilot and PDCA plans, using measurable performance indicators, field feedback, and lessons learned to validate solutions before broader rollout.
  • Industrialize productivity solutions into standard, repeatable, scalable, and sustainable ways of working by coordinating updates to procedures, outage standards, tooling readiness, planning templates, training, commercial inputs, and operating rhythms.
  • Develop deployment packages that include communication plans, training plans, change actions, KPI/PPI definitions, adoption expectations, and handover requirements for segments and regions.
  • Partner with segment nuclear field service teams, outage planning, commercial, engineering, tooling, and operations teams to ensure deployment readiness, adoption, and sustainment.
  • Engage field teams and site leaders to gather feedback, improve usability, remove adoption barriers, and strengthen the feedback loop between execution teams and functional owners.
  • Coordinate with tooling and engineering teams to define development needs, testing plans, and scale-up requirements for new tools or equipment.
  • Serve as project manager and business owner for assigned productivity initiatives, ensuring disciplined execution through stage gates covering opportunity approval, solution validation, standardization, industrialization, deployment readiness, and sustainment confirmation.
  • Own project governance, schedules, risk management, stakeholder alignment, executive updates, pilot budgets, validation costs, and related CAPEX requests.
  • Define, track, and report metrics for project progress, pilot performance, validated impact, deployment readiness, adoption, and sustained results, including integration into Daily Management and MOR/KPI systems where applicable.
  • Communicate productivity opportunities, implementation choices, risks, and business impacts to senior leaders, functional partners, and field teams in a clear and actionable way.
  • Support the future outage value stream operating model, in which value stream teams transform and enable while segments and regions execute and sustain.
  • Coach and influence cross-functional contributors to build execution discipline, standardization, constructive feedback, and continuous improvement across the outage organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel may be required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong functional expertise in Nuclear Field Service productivity, with the ability to serve as a best-practice and quality resource for business and field teams.
  • Strong understanding of how outage services and Steam Turbine upgrades are planned, prepared, executed, standardized, and sustained in the field.
  • Ability to convert improvement ideas into scalable operating solutions through standardization, industrialization, deployment, and sustainment.
  • Strong project and program management capability, including prioritization, decision-making, risk management, accountability, and execution discipline.
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and operational disciplines, including procedures, tooling, fleet support, outage optimization, training, planning, engineering, and commercial functions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to define baselines, validate impact, use KPI/TTI/PPI data, and connect results to business operating rhythms.
  • Ability to communicate and facilitate effectively, influence leaders, functional partners, and field teams, and translate complex topics into clear actions.
  • Self-starter with high ownership, sound judgment, persistence, and a bias for action in ambiguous or moderately complex environments.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills; additional European languages are an advantage.

About the company

GE Vernova makes equipment and software that generate and manage electricity for utilities, power producers, and industrial customers. Its Power, Wind, and Electrification businesses span gas turbines, wind generation, and the systems that move electricity across grids. The company supplies generators, grid equipment, and controls, while its software coordinates network operations and integrates changing sources of power. GE Vernova wins five Venture Global grid reservations; $3,400 model target implies 267% upside

GE Vernova has reserved five grid equipment packages for Venture Global, under an agreement signed October 9. GE Grid Solutions will supply transformers and gas-insulated switchgear for up to 21 power island projects, with purchase orders starting in late 2026. Venture Global also reserved eight power islands with GE Vernova, and expects to order its first by the end of 2026. Beyond reservation fees, neither deal binds the buyer; the roughly $17.2 billion total assumes every order proceeds. GE Vernova shares closed at $926.44 on October 15, 21.14% below their June record but up about 42% in 2026. The company's Electrification backlog has grown to $45 billion from $6 billion at the end of 2021. Third-quarter results are due October 28.

GE Vernova shares fall 5.5% despite Venture Global deal for up to 16 gas units, 10GW of AI power

Venture Global has signed power and grid frame agreements with GE Vernova and Baker Hughes for up to 16 new 720 MW combined-cycle gas power island units, plus related transformer equipment. The units would supply an off-grid industrial power network that could support as much as 10 GW of future compute capacity. GE Vernova's shares fell 5.5% after the news. The deal shows how its gas turbines and grid equipment are becoming central to behind-the-meter power for LNG operations and AI data centres. The company recently raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $45.5 billion to $46.5 billion, and its free cash flow outlook to $11.5 billion to $12.5 billion. Risks remain in its loss-making Wind business, tariffs, and large, lumpy projects.

Cramer tips GE Vernova and Vertiv as data center plays missing from jobs report

Jim Cramer highlighted GE Vernova and Vertiv on 2 October, noting their exposure to data centre growth. He questioned why the jobs report didn't reflect the data centre buildout, suggesting commercial construction is weak whilst data centre projects remain strong. Vertiv's Q2 net sales grew 24% annually, with operating profit up 44%. However, revenue growth of 17.8% missed analyst estimates of 23.6% due to supply chain issues, raising concerns about backlog conversion. The company's capital expenditure surged 285% to $173 million. GE Vernova's shares have risen over 240% since October 2024. Q2 customer downpayments generated a $6.4 billion working capital benefit, pushing free cash flow up 2,532% to $5.1 billion. The company raised its full-year cash flow guidance to $11.5–$12.5 billion from $6.5–$7.5 billion.
