Requirements
  • PhD or Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • For the biostatistics-first track, 5+ years of pharmaceutical biostatistics experience with a PhD or 7+ years with a Master’s degree in drug development, biotech, or CRO settings.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SAS and/or R, with working knowledge of Python for data science or scripting.
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools such as LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or automation scripting, with interest in expanding these capabilities in a GxP environment.
  • Deep knowledge of CDISC standards, including SDTM, ADaM, and Define-XML, and regulatory submission workflows.
  • For the AI/ML-first track, 3+ years of hands-on AI/ML engineering experience, including building and deploying LLM-powered tools, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and/or MLOps infrastructure.
  • Strong Python proficiency for AI/ML development and working familiarity with SAS and/or R in a statistical or data science context.
  • Meaningful exposure to clinical or life sciences data, such as clinical trial datasets, CDISC standards, pharmacovigilance data, or regulated environments including GxP and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Foundational understanding of statistical concepts such as hypothesis testing, regression, and survival analysis relevant to clinical development.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methodologies, current drug development trends, and regulatory environments including FDA, EMA, and ICH.
  • Ability to communicate statistical and AI concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and vendors.
  • Curiosity and initiative in building and deploying AI-powered tools.
Responsibilities
  • Apply appropriate statistical methodologies supporting medical insights, value demonstration, safety monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Contribute to statistical design, analysis, and reporting for Phase II–IV clinical trials, including adaptive designs, Bayesian methods, and estimands under ICH E9(R1).
  • Contribute to NDA, BLA, MAA, and other global regulatory submissions as lead or co-statistician, and support responses to health authority queries.
  • Stay current with FDA, EMA, and ICH guidance on statistical methodology and real-world evidence.
  • Design and implement AI/ML interface environments connecting biometric platforms such as SAS, R, and Python with enterprise LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, and clinical data repositories.
  • Build, test, and iterate on AI-powered tools for SAP drafting, TFL automation, anomaly detection, protocol deviation identification, and regulatory document support.
  • Establish and maintain MLOps pipelines for model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring within a GxP-compliant, audit-ready framework.
  • Implement AI governance standards including explainability, SHAP/XAI, bias assessment, and 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 compliant documentation.
  • Evaluate and deploy AI-powered automation for CDISC mapping, data cleaning, and submission package preparation.
  • Partner with IT and third-party vendors to integrate AI tools with EDC, CTMS, RTSM, and pharmacovigilance systems.
  • Translate statistical and AI concepts into clear, actionable insights for medical, regulatory, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Partner with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance to align biometrics and AI deliverables with program timelines.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and best practices for biostatistics, AI tooling, and statistical programming.
  • Manage CRO statisticians and programmers on assigned programs.

Acoramidis shows potential cardiac disease reversal in ATTR-CM patients, adding 65 days alive out of hospital

BridgeBio Pharma presented new analyses from its Phase 3 ATTRibute-CM study of Attruby (acoramidis) for transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy at the European Society of Cardiology Congress 2026. The findings were simultaneously published in the European Journal of Heart Failure. Acoramidis is the first therapy shown to potentially reverse cardiac structural disease progression and functional decline through 42 months based on CMR imaging. Up to half of patients showed clinically meaningful improvement in cardiac function in the completer analysis. Patients treated with acoramidis had 65 additional days alive and out of hospital by Month 36 versus baseline placebo patients. The drug demonstrated long-term efficacy and safety through 54 months across variant ATTR-CM subgroups. Acoramidis is an orally administered, near-complete transthyretin stabiliser.

BridgeBio surges 24% in three months as Attruby sales hit $403M amid upcoming FDA decisions

BridgeBio Pharma shares have risen 24% in the past three months, significantly outperforming the S&P 500's 0.7% gain over the same period. The rally extends a 71.4% advance over the past year. Attruby generated $403 million in US sales during the first half of 2026, following $362.4 million in 2025. The drug continued gaining share among treatment-naive patients whilst diagnosed ATTR-CM patients in the United States exceeded 50,000 in 2025. The company faces an FDA decision for BBP-418 by 27 November 2026, with additional regulatory decisions expected for encaleret on 8 May 2027 and infigratinib in early to mid-2027.
