Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of ambulatory care pharmacy experience is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current New Jersey registration, or eligibility for registration upon hire, is required.
- The candidate must register with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy during the first 10 days of employment.
- The candidate must complete registration with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy and become an active registered pharmacy technician within 180 days of hire.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification or more than 10 years of hospital or equivalent pharmacy experience is required.
- Completion of basic pharmaceutical calculations is required.
- Knowledge of medication therapy management is required.
- Experience with prescription authorization is required.
Responsibilities
- Support the pharmacist in gathering health and prescription information.
- Schedule and register patients for clinic visits.
- Complete prescription authorizations and obtain supporting documentation for denials.
- Understand the billing process and troubleshoot insurance issues.
- Assist with processing prescriptions to retail pharmacies.
- Follow up with patients to ensure compliance with care.
- Assist with required responsibilities to ensure safe and complete care.
