Requirements
  • A diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems, or Automation Technology from a recognized institution is required.
  • At least two years of experience in technical product sales or sales engineering is required.
  • Practical experience with Rockwell Automation industrial control products is required.
  • Strong understanding of control panels and control system strategies is required.
  • Experience interpreting and producing single-line electrical drawings, I/O lists, and control schematics is required.
  • Working knowledge of industrial networking and EtherNet/IP architecture, including network diagnostics and segmentation best practices, is required.
  • Ability to develop bills of materials, technical proposals, commercial quotes, and scope documents is required.
  • Consultative selling and negotiation experience, with a record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, is required.
  • CRM proficiency and commercial acumen, including pricing strategy and margin management, are required.
  • A valid driver's license and passport are required, along with the ability to travel to the USA as needed for training.
Responsibilities
  • Own sales targets and deliverables for industrial controls, sensing, safety, and associated services within Northern Ontario, and execute a territory sales plan to meet or exceed quota.
  • Build, qualify, and manage an opportunity pipeline using customer relationship management software; forecast sales, report progress, and adjust tactics to achieve revenue and margin goals.
  • Pursue new business through prospecting, cold outreach, lead follow-up, channel partner engagement, and relationship development with end users, original equipment manufacturers, and system integrators.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, technical quotes, and accurate bills of materials; negotiate pricing, terms, and scope to close business while protecting margin.
  • Coordinate pre-sales and post-sales activities with internal sales teams, product specialists, supply chain, and Rockwell Automation to support project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Run targeted sales campaigns, customer workshops, and executive briefings to accelerate decision cycles and drive product and software adoption.
  • Upsell and cross-sell complementary products and services, including drives, condition monitoring, system integration, training, and maintenance.
  • Implement competitive strategies and win/loss tactics to defend and grow market share across manufacturing, water and wastewater, food and beverage, mining, infrastructure, and other verticals.
  • Act as the lead technical resource for industrial controls, sensing, and safety sales by assessing customer control-system requirements and migration opportunities.
  • Provide pre-sales technical consulting and solution demonstrations, including hands-on examples and labs.
  • Lead control-system migration and retrofit initiatives by assessing legacy environments, developing migration strategies, estimating costs and downtime, and recommending phased implementations aligned with customer objectives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Rockwell product roadmaps, firmware updates, licensing models, and partner integrations.
  • Maintain monthly and quarterly sales-forecasting accuracy, pipeline velocity, close rate, average deal size, and margin targets.
  • Drive growth in installed-base conversions, service agreements, and project-based revenues.
  • Track and improve customer retention, net new logos, and territory market share.
