Public Relations Manager @ GuidePoint Security

GuidePoint Security is looking for a dynamic, well-rounded, and proactive professional to lead public relations efforts for the company. This role, reporting to the VP of Marketing, will support national, regional and business line priorities, work cross-functionally to amplify in-market activations, and respond to emerging issues. Ultimately, this role is charged with growing and extending GuidePoint Security’s brand through third-party media outlets. Cybersecurity industry experience highly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage PR firms and resources, establish the overall PR strategy and execute multiple high-profile public relations campaigns to extend GuidePoint Security’s thought leadership and brand within established metros and media outlets as well as to penetrate new metros and outlets.
Monitor the news to identify areas of opportunity for the company to provide commentary.
Write bylined articles on behalf of company thought leaders for placement with third parties and/or the company blog.
Work cross-functionally to develop, coordinate, and implement public relations & communications plans for GuidePoint Security services & capabilities, thought leadership, awards, and key new hires.
Develop appropriate messages, strategies, and tactics for various target audiences, including national and financial media, trade media, and cybersecurity influencers.
Seek out and identify proactive media opportunities — as well as situations that could adversely impact the company’s reputation— and coordinate strategies and tactics to promote and protect GuidePoint Security.
Manage a brand monitoring platform to identify potential brand risks (and escalate for proper course of action), develop and monitor key PR KPIs and compare to others in the industry.
Counsel management on communications strategies and tactics when issues, policies, or decisions threaten to impact the reputation of GuidePoint Security. Develop appropriate media responses and communications materials in coordination with Crisis Communications firm.
Cultivate strong working relationships with thought leaders within the company and the media as well as GuidePoint’s social media team.
Evaluate the success of earned media placements in building corporate reputation and mitigating crises and utilize learnings from outcomes to inform future strategic outreach.
Manage the corporate blog editorial calendar
Add news articles and blogs to the corporate website

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree
At least 5-7 years relevant experience, with minimum 2 years in strategic PR role.
