Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Credit Controller or in debt recovery is required.
  • A good standard of education is preferred, including a C or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Experience working in an office environment is required, preferably within a Credit or Accounts department.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, is required.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and good numeracy skills are required.
  • A professional and confident telephone manner is required.
  • The ability to work methodically and organise and prioritise work is required.
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team is required.
Responsibilities
  • Call customers daily to discuss returned direct debit payments, outstanding debts, and cancelled direct debit instructions.
  • Handle application forms.
  • Contact customers regarding fuel card exposure and expired credit limits.
  • Handle additional card orders, card limits, and changes of details.
  • Understand cleared balances to keep accounts open, and work with credit insurance brokers and credit rating agencies.
  • Handle customer queries professionally, courteously, and promptly, and record information from emails and calls to maintain accurate customer records.
  • Interact with the Sales Team regarding customer fuel card accounts, recording details in in-house systems, email, and phone.
  • Liaise with the Credit & Collections Supervisor regarding letters before action and payment plans.
  • Carry out other duties as reasonably required.
