Requirements
  • A high school diploma and 1–2 years of relevant work experience, such as security, retail investigations, or loss prevention, are required.

Responsibilities
  • Coach and train associates and leaders on shrink awareness, theft deterrence, and customer service programs.
  • Partner with Store and Asset Protection Leadership to identify theft trends, develop action plans, and promote awareness initiatives.
  • Deliver SMART customer service and ensure associates have the resources to do the same.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure store environment by monitoring entrances, exits, and high-risk areas.
  • Monitor activity through surveillance, reporting, and exception-based tools to detect theft, fraud, and policy violations.
  • Conduct external theft apprehensions and interviews in accordance with laws and company policy.
  • Investigate and resolve criminal activity, maintain case files, and support law enforcement and court proceedings.
  • Assist in internal investigations and provide evidence when needed.
  • Validate store security measures, including locks, gates, and alarms, and respond to electronic article surveillance and emergency-exit triggers.
  • Provide feedback on audit and inspection findings and support efforts to minimize shrink and operational risk.
  • Respond effectively to potentially violent situations while ensuring safety and composure.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience conducting retail investigations is preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience using physical security systems such as closed-circuit television and electronic article surveillance is preferred.
  • Experience investigating organized crime and asset protection cases is preferred.

Major US retailers have received over $5 billion in tariff refunds this week alone, with Walmart getting $2.9 billion, Target $994 million, and Home Depot $730 million. The Trump administration is refunding approximately $166 billion in tariff revenue after the Supreme Court struck down its sweeping tariff policy, having returned $100 billion so far. Despite studies showing consumers bore the brunt of initial tariff costs through higher prices, most companies are reinvesting the refunds rather than passing savings to shoppers. Retail executives indicated in earnings calls they plan to put the money back into their businesses. Consumers have filed class-action lawsuits against companies receiving refunds, but none have concluded. Americans have limited recourse to recover funds if companies don't voluntarily lower prices.

Lowe's CEO warns of cautious consumer spending amid macro and geopolitical uncertainty

Lowe's Q2 sales reach $26B with 0.2% comparable growth, updates 2026 outlook

Lowe's stock trades 27% below peak as DIY demand weakens despite strong cash flow
