- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- Approximately one year of Breaking Department experience, with cross-training in the tanker bay area under close supervision, is expected; familiarity with production flow, mixing, USDA and company standards, the Clean in Place system, and tanker bay operations is needed.
- Strong mechanical ability is required.
- The ability to read and write well and follow written and verbal instructions is required.
- The ability to work in a wet environment with changing temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, is required.
- The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds is required.
- The ability to follow Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space Entry procedures is required.
- The ability to climb onto tankers using a safety harness is required.
- The ability to work safely with chemicals is required.
- The ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck certification is required; a driver’s license is listed.
- The ability to operate specific equipment or tools is required.
- The ability to perform the essential duties through an equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted.
- The role requires reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; writing simple correspondence; and presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
- The role requires adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and computing rates, ratios, and percentages and interpreting bar graphs.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate tanker cleaning and liquid egg transfers for shipment with the USDA.
- Check paperwork accompanying each tanker.
- Record the receipt date, product type, raw or pasteurized status, USDA Certificate number, receiver, source company, and total pounds on the Tanker Receiving Log.
- Inspect incoming tankers for cleanliness, temperature, and smell, and take corrective action as needed.
- Take product samples to the lab for testing.
- Control egg flow using the computer panel, flow boards, and piping in the old and new silo areas.
- Set up transfers by connecting a sanitized unloading hose to the tanker and unloading product to the proper silo or tank.
- Ensure empty tanks and tankers are cleaned by the Clean in Place system.
- Communicate edible egg transfers to the Cooked Department.
- Mix liquid egg products with ingredients.
- Assist in coordinating tanker shipments.
- Control bulk chemical receiving and the flow of inedible egg product to the inedible tanker bay.
- Maintain general housekeeping in the work area.
- Monitor shell-room augers and machinery to ensure they work properly.
- Monitor chemical pumps and ensure they are filled and working properly.
- Clean transfer-room floors and machinery, empty bad egg barrels, and clean tankers.
- Complete required data entry and paperwork and fill in at transfer-room positions as needed.
- Assist in other areas, including mixing product in the mixing room as needed.
- Follow safe work practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points guidelines, and sanitary procedures; maintain product quality and support SQF Level 3 certification.
- Report conditions or practices that could adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
- Follow safety and quality policies and procedures, maintain a safe and healthy workplace, and perform other duties as assigned.
