Requirements
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience.
  • Competence in routine radiologic procedures and operating room skills.
  • Ability to slide patients on and off X-ray stretchers to X-ray tables and push and pull objects greater than 20 pounds throughout the day.
  • Ability to push and pull stretchers holding patients of various weights and body types.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, push heavy mobile imaging equipment, and lift or reposition patients weighing over 50-100 pounds using proper body mechanics.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, manual dexterity, crouching, kneeling, and overhead reaching are required for equipment and patient handling.
  • Fine motor skills are required to handle delicate imaging components.
  • Auditory ability is required to communicate with patients and hear equipment signals.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and use personal protective equipment, including lead aprons, for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all age levels served within the position’s assigned areas.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to workplace health and safety, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • An Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT certification.
  • Licensure in Radiology from the state of Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of radiologic procedures under Radiologist supervision and according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Use standard, portable, and specialized X-ray equipment.
  • Perform C-arm procedures in the operating room and pain clinic.
  • Perform special procedure injections and fluoroscopy procedures with assistance from a Radiologist.
  • Cover on-call and holiday shifts, including holiday coverage as required for per-diem technologists.
  • Move and reposition portable X-ray machines, C-arms, and patient stretchers.
  • Use proper body mechanics when maneuvering patients and equipment.
  • Work with frequent exposure to radiation, communicable diseases, and bodily fluids.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Synapse/PACS experience.
  • Previous experience with Cerner.
