Commit to arranging the upcoming semester class schedule to meet the Boys & Girls Club's scheduling needs, if applicable.
Commit to working at the Club during the summer.
Be able to work within the Club's school-year operating hours.
Be able to work within the Club's summer operating hours.
Be able to understand, implement, and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities, in accordance with Club training and values.
Have the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, and volunteers to ensure safety and provide guidance and reflection in support of Club priority outcomes and goals.
Be able to stand or sit for long periods throughout a shift.
Be able to operate general office equipment, including a personal computer, telephone, and copier.
Be able to perform the safety-sensitive duties of the position.
Responsibilities
Implement the five key elements of positive youth development in daily interactions with youth.
Supervise youth and specifically assigned program areas.
Ensure program activities are conducted according to Club policies and procedures.
Ensure the safety and security of youth in the facility.
Attend all monthly staff meetings, biweekly one-on-one meetings, and biweekly team meetings.
Assist the supervisor in creating trimester performance plan goals and accomplishing them by the end of each trimester.
Provide the supervisor with daily feedback about the day and ways to improve programs and the space.
Perform other duties as assigned.
TITLE: Junior Youth Development Professional REPORTS TO: Full-Time Staff CLASSIFIED: Part Time, Non-Exempt LOCATION: Elkton, SD
MISSION: To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
JOB SUMMARY: The Junior Youth Development Professional is responsible for implementing the 5 key elements of positive youth development in their daily interactions with youth. The Junior Staff will be responsible for the supervision of the youth and the program areas specifically assigned. All employees of the Boys & Girls Club will be expected to uphold the mission of the Club.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement the 5 Key Elements for Positive Youth Development.
Exhibit the Club Values of excellence, impact driven, teamwork, and good character.
Ensure all program activities are being conducted according to the Club’s policies and procedures.
Responsible for the safety and security of the youth in the facility.
Attend 100% of monthly all staff meetings, biweekly one-on-one meetings and biweekly team meetings.
Assist your supervisor in creating trimester performance plan goals and accomplishing them by the end of each trimester.
Provide daily feedback to supervisor on how the day went and how programs and the space can improve.
Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, etc. at the Club to ensure safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goals
Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time throughout a shift
Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.
