Requirements
  • Completed the first year of PhD studies by July 2027.
  • Ability to work full-time for 10–12 weeks during Summer 2027.
  • Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Experience preparing data for, developing, and evaluating learned models.
  • Experience with programming languages and data tools such as Python, MATLAB, C++, C, Java, SQL, Teradata, Tableau, Gephi, or Airflow.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, including a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative artificial intelligence technologies for future aerospace solutions.
  • Apply software development, artificial intelligence application, and machine learning knowledge to real-world industry challenges.
  • Work independently and as part of a distributed international team.
  • Support projects through development and successful transition and integration of new capabilities into Boeing product deployment.
  • Participate in a 10–12 week internship during Summer 2027.
  • Attend Graduate Researcher Program development activities, including mentorship, speaker talks, the in-person Graduate Researcher Program Summit, and an Innovation Challenge.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Computer Science, Data Science, or a similar field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience, including jobs, internships, and assistantships.
  • Experience with machine learning development and deployment pipelines from data to model.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and repositories such as ADO, JIRA, and Git.

Boeing shares down 21% from peak as 737 Max wing production delays slow turnaround

Boeing completes 13-satellite O3b mPOWER constellation with $715B order backlog

Boeing has completed its 13-satellite O3b mPOWER constellation for operator SES, following the launch of the final three satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The satellites joined 10 already in orbit. The constellation will support high-speed global connectivity for governments, cruise lines, commercial airlines and mobile users. Boeing's software-defined architecture developed for this programme is also being adapted for US Space Force's Evolved Strategic SATCOM systems and Wideband Global SATCOM. The satellites must complete orbit raising and initialisation before entering service in mid-2027. Boeing reported a total backlog of $715 billion at the end of the second quarter, with $85 billion in its Defence, Space & Security segment. Hedge fund ownership in Boeing declined from 99 funds to 90 funds between consecutive quarters, according to 13F filings.
