Requirements
  • Equal to completion of 4 years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training is required.
  • Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program is required.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist by a nationally recognized certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists with certification obtained within 12 months of graduation from the program or within 6 months of hire if more than 12 months from graduation.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support is required.
  • One year of related work experience is preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and the COVID-19 virus or be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying exemption once hired
Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to the surgical team during the intra-operative phase.
  • Provide aseptic, safe, appropriately equipped and functional surgical environment.
  • OR preparation.
  • Instrument supply and assembly.
  • Maintenance of sterile fields.
  • Hands off instruments and initiation of counts throughout procedures.
  • Perform Surgical Technologist duties including on-call duties as needed or required.
