- Currently pursuing BS or MS in CS, CE, ECE, or equivalent
- Experience with C, C++, linux, Emacs, shell scripting, Makefiles, compilers on a real-world project
- Exposure to industry common tools and processes such as code reviews and large source code management systems
- Work closely with engineering to modernize portions of Cadence’s software across multiple platforms using both C and C++
- Manage a project branch of a large commercial product and assure the branch stays in sync with the main release
- Assure changes progress while the project continues to build successfully on all platforms and continues to pass regression tests
- Submit changes to source code, reviewed with Review Board and submitted via Perforce
- Track weekly status
- Prepare a project report and presentation at the end of the internship
- Update solutions guidebook for problems faced and document any reusable automation developed
- File bugs on existing code when problems are discovered and work with engineering to resolve
