Requirements
  • At least 2 years of recent NCDR CP/MI Registry abstraction experience is required.
  • Ability to independently abstract CP/MI cases using registry specifications and clinical documentation is required.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare quality reporting, registry abstraction, clinical documentation review, and medical record interpretation is required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, documentation, and follow-through are required.
  • Comfort working in multiple electronic health records, registry platforms, vendor tools, and data collection systems is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
  • Contractors must have high-speed secure internet, a personal computer or laptop, and at least two monitors.
Responsibilities
  • Review patient medical records and abstract data for the NCDR CP/MI Registry.
  • Apply registry specifications, definitions, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and abstraction guidelines accurately and consistently.
  • Interpret clinical documentation related to cardiology procedures, diagnoses, treatments, outcomes, complications, and related quality measures.
  • Enter accurate and complete data into assigned registry platforms, electronic health records, vendor tools, or other data collection systems.
  • Maintain a high level of abstraction accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail.
  • Meet assigned productivity expectations, weekly progress goals, and internal and client deadlines.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including feedback, correction, validation, and inter-rater reliability reviews.
  • Communicate professionally with account leads, team members, and client contacts when clarification is needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with ADN, client, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and data security requirements.

  • Experience using the NCDR application, NCDR reports, and other related data collection tools.
  • Experience with inter-rater reliability, quality assurance review, audit validation, and abstraction accuracy review.
