Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in Physical Therapy is required.
  • A current state-issued professional license is required.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Ability to read and write simple correspondence and speak effectively in small groups.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, record keeping, and routine database activity.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, sit, kneel, and crawl; frequently use hands and fingers; lift at least 25 pounds; and meet close-vision requirements.
  • Ability to work in diverse indoor residential or childcare settings and perform moderately strenuous therapy activities.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, organize, and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy for pediatric patients in home health settings, directing patients and caregivers in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, or enhance performance.
  • Examine and evaluate pediatric patients and administer remedial treatments.
  • Provide screenings, evaluations, direct clinical treatment, family and caregiver training and counseling regarding patient status, progress, goals, home programming, and discharge planning.
  • Coordinate patient care with office staff and professionals from other disciplines.
  • Communicate with pediatric patients and families about progress, problems, home programs, and other matters related to the therapeutic process.
  • Refer patients and family members to appropriate professionals, agencies, services, and resources.
  • Consult with physicians about patient progress and maintain appropriate records.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Conduct internal and external public education, including periodic in-service presentations as needed.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program.
  • Attend continuing education activities and expand the scope of service.
  • Maintain an adequate caseload and appropriate productivity.
  • Participate in team efforts to achieve company and departmental goals and share knowledge and skills with colleagues.
  • Mentor students and new hires.
  • Participate in professional organizations and activities.
  • Use initiative and independent judgment in performing job responsibilities.
  • Provide backup coverage for other caseloads as needed.
  • Comply with company policies, practices, and procedures, and perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Pediatric clinical experience is preferred.
  • Home health experience is preferred.
