Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering, or applicable trade or superintendent experience.
  • Seven to ten or more years of construction or commissioning experience, including at least five years supporting data center projects.
  • Proven experience commissioning mission-critical facilities such as data centers, semiconductor facilities, or laboratories.
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, controls integration, and commissioning standards including ASHRAE and NEBB.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for coordinating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with commissioning software tools such as CxAlloy, Bluebeam, and Procore.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the owner's representative overseeing the full commissioning lifecycle of large-scale, mission-critical data center projects.
  • Lead coordination with commissioning stakeholders, including the general contractor, commissioning agents, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors, design teams, and owner personnel.
  • Develop and maintain the project's commissioning plan and commissioning schedule in alignment with construction and turnover milestones.
  • Collaborate with technical and subject matter experts to draft and review commissioning process documentation in compliance with company and project standards.
  • Interpret and review multidisciplinary construction drawings and specifications to anticipate and mitigate commissioning-related issues.
  • Work with the general contractor and subcontractors to verify that systems are installed and tested according to owner specifications, applicable state and local codes, UMC, UBC, UPC, NFPA, SMACNA, ASME, and relevant international standards.
  • Support detailed start-up sequences and align them with the project schedule; create workarounds and recovery plans when required.
  • Maintain and administer the commissioning software platform, such as CxAlloy, including tracking issues, checklists, test results, and closeout documentation.
  • Schedule and manage the sequencing of equipment and system start-up activities.
  • Monitor and track commissioning-related requests for information, submittals, deficiency items, and action items across active systems.
  • Perform and document routine site walks at least twice daily to confirm field readiness and verify corrective actions.
  • Interface with general contractor commissioning managers, engineers, system owners, and vendor technicians to align testing protocols and responsibilities.
  • Lead and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and Integrated Systems Testing.
  • Manage and report commissioning key performance indicators to internal and external stakeholders, including senior project management.
  • Act as the primary liaison for commissioning activities in Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings.
  • Verify that commissioning documentation meets turnover requirements and supports a clean, timely handover.
  • Participate in standard operating procedure creation and compliance reviews, including audits of SIPPs and pre-task plans.
  • Resolve technical field questions, provide requests-for-information responses, and coordinate design-team clarifications.
