Requirements
- High school diploma or Canadian General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Three to five years of experience in non-destructive testing inspection.
- Canadian General Standards Board Level II ultrasonic testing certification.
- Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission CEDO certification.
- Valid Bruce Power Security Clearance.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of non-destructive testing techniques, services, and procedures.
- Fundamental understanding of industry codes, regulations, and practices.
- Ability to set up, calibrate, test, interpret, and evaluate findings on required non-destructive testing equipment in compliance with codes, standards, and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of radiation safety and operational field requirements regarding radiation safety.
- Ability to read technical documents and procedures and apply them in the field.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure and high-production environment while managing competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, and work outside normal business hours.
- Ability to travel occasionally to frequently within Canada.
- Ability to work inside and outside in heat, cold, wet, humid, dry, arid, noisy, and inclement conditions and to use personal protective equipment in hazardous work environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform and complete non-destructive testing field inspections in compliance with client, industry, and company standards and policies.
- Prepare and complete all necessary paperwork in compliance with client, industry, and company standards and policies.
- Ensure all equipment is set up, calibrated, and functional in alignment with client and company procedures.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications for conventional and advanced non-destructive testing methods.
- Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship for the continuous development of Level I and Trainee Technicians in compliance with industry codes, standards, and procedures.
- Set up boundaries and monitor the work area to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering when required.
- Provide orientation and training to Level I and Trainee Technicians.
- Promote and model the company's focus on safety when interacting with employees and clients.
- Perform quality inspection and reporting.
- Represent Applus+ with outside groups, regulatory bodies, associations, and clients.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including the Applus+ Code of Ethics and confidentiality agreements.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
