TouchBistro is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our ever growing team in our Toronto office.  You will be responsible for managing, improving and building out development workflows and production systems as the company continues to scale!   Able to occasionally work out of business/regular work hours and be part of an on-call rotation.

Your Day-To-Day

• Work alongside development, data infrastructure and InfoSec teams & enable them to release code quickly and securely in production
• Maintain & improve up-time for applications & infrastructure
• Improve system reliability through disaster recovery, high availability & fault tolerance initiatives
• Suggest & implement continuous improvements & automations for application infrastructure & security 
• Automate and improve processes 
• Participate in DevOps & Data Platform design, reviews & best practice discussions

All About You

• You have 1-2 years of experience with an in-depth knowledge of modern server-side application development (Go, NodeJs preferred)
• You have exposure & some working knowledge of public cloud platforms; with a focus on networking, compute & autoscaling, databases, content delivery, DNS & security.
• You have an understanding of RDBMS concepts & working knowledge of SQL (e.g Postgres/ MySQL)
• You are familiar with Application observability, performance monitoring (APM), tracing & logging.
• You have working knowledge of virtualization, containers and container orchestration (ECS or EKS/Kubernetes).
• You have an understanding of cloud-native application architecture & delivery, e.g. scaling, load-balancing & failover.
• You have experience of working with *NIX environment, command shells & scripting.
• Ability to work & communicate effectively across teams to achieve results.

Nice To Have

• Knowledge of Application & Infrastructure security & best practices is a big plus.
• A strong bias for delivery & ownership in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in identifying & efficiently automating rudimentary/day-to-day tasks.
• Ability to independently design & implement simple tools & systems in the cloud infrastructure space.
• Good understanding of Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD) processes & tools.
• Hands-on experience, or an understanding of how Infrastructure-as-Code (Provisioning/Configuration Management) tools work (Terraform, Cloud SDKs etc)
