Responsibilities
  • Investigate allegations of student misconduct with an emphasis on student development.
  • Monitor assigned cases and help students consider how their conduct may define and affect their college experience, personally and in relation to others.
  • Ensure students understand their rights and responsibilities, and apply appropriate administrative actions, educational interventions, or disciplinary sanctions.
  • Ensure a complete investigative process and maintain detailed letters and records, including comprehensive written investigative reports.
  • Collaborate with university and community partners to support students' personal development through the conduct process.
  • Serve as a liaison to ASU Housing staff in administering conduct cases from campus residential facilities, and provide guidance and support on the ASU conduct system.
  • Provide ongoing training, consultations, and policy interpretations to students, faculty, staff, and community members regarding the ABOR Student Code of Conduct and conduct process.
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate student staff, as applicable.
  • Perform other assigned duties or projects.
  • Use a computer for extended periods, including viewing the screen and using a mouse and keyboard.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Justice Studies, Social Work, Law Enforcement, or a related field.
  • Experience with student housing and handling behavioral issues in a residential setting.
  • Experience with clubs and organizations, including fraternities, sororities, and athletics.
  • Experience organizing, coordinating, and prioritizing a large workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience serving a student population with cultural competence and sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of social media and public record searches or requests.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Maxient, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of investigative techniques, student development, and holistic approaches to conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, FERPA, Clery, and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Experience conducting high-level investigations involving alleged sexual harassment, sexual assault, or sexual violence.
  • Training through ATIXA, ASCA, or comparable professional organizations.
  • Training in FETI or other trauma-informed approaches.
