Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Men’s Health Center facility and its contents.
  • Clean debris and towels from locker areas and perform walk-throughs every 15 minutes.
  • Store newspapers and magazines neatly on tables or magazine racks.
  • Clean and disinfect the coffee and television lounge area during each shift, and regularly wipe down kitchen countertops, the refrigerator, and drawers.
  • Keep shelves containing amenities and toiletries clean, orderly, and properly stocked; check sink areas and shelves every 15 minutes and restock as needed.
  • Clear debris from the steam, sauna, and playtza rooms.
  • Wipe debris from the bottoms of the long lockers once per shift, especially during winter months.
  • Clean and restock the Towel Tracker throughout the day.
  • Stack towels neatly on their respective shelves or tables.
  • Transport new loads of laundry every 30 minutes.
  • Remove and wash dirty towels and stock clean towels.
  • Wash, dry, and place workout laundry bags in members’ lockers before the next day.
  • Use separate buckets for clean and dirty towels and laundry.
  • Clean lint from dryer screens after each load.
  • Perform regular walk-throughs of the steam, sauna, and playtza rooms every 10 minutes to check on members.
  • Attend to member needs, including adjusting television volume, answering phones, relaying messages, and escalating unanswered questions to a supervisor for follow-up within 24 hours.
  • Take whirlpool readings once per shift and record them in the logbook.
  • Notify Facilities when soap dispensers need refilling.
  • Notify Facilities when shampoo and body soap containers in the shower area need refilling.
  • Make coffee and refresh it throughout the day, and replenish cereal and granola bars as needed.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup of Sunday breakfast.
  • Notify the incoming attendant of key tasks for the upcoming shift.
  • Create a welcoming environment in which each individual feels seen and welcomed.
  • Complete assigned work before the end of each shift as part of the Membership team.
  • Support JCC Greater Boston’s mission, vision, and values through personal role modeling.
  • Participate in assigned staff meetings and JCCGB all-staff meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
